No where to go.....
No where to go.....

This week I had a couple of setbacks...the ice which has kept me indoors and pain in my body which is challenging me to slow down and take care of myself. What did I do? I pivoted and made the most of it.

When the topic of setbacks came up in my WW meetings this week, my automatic response was I wonder if setbacks offer an opportunity to move forward with my eyes wide open. If there is a pause and sense of awareness that can shift the road we choose going forward.

The topic ties into Neuroplasticity. Which refers to the capacity for our brains to change based on what we do, think, learn and experience. It also ties into self-compassion.

I have learned through my life challenges how we shift the pathways in our brain through self-compassion. The importance of loving ourselves and working towards change.

Once of the exercise we went through was identifying our critical voice. We did this in the context of our WW journey.

  1.  Identifying the critical voice: Noticing the tone and language we use.

  2. Challenging the thought: Asking is this based on fact or fiction? Asking ourselves if this were a friend in front of us would we speak to them this way

  3. Reframing the thought into a more compassionate message

2016 Healing Wounds--Changing the way we talk to ourselves

In 2016 I was a participant in a Brené Brown course where we spent time drawing our future.

We spent time on looking at our old stories. Writing down all the negative messages we were holding onto which stem from our life experiences. We then covered these messages with Band-aids. We used a permanent marker in a different colour, writing healing messages to ourselves on top of the Band-Aids. As we worked through the course, we created healing messages for ourselves. Messages of self-compassion.

As I change the pathways in my brain, I can embrace the gifts and talents I want to share with the world. Some of these are my dedication to discover life through self-discovery and presence; being curious, looking for beauty in the world, owning my own stories and writing a new ending, my commitment to doing the hard things as well as loving myself and sharing that with others through the lens of love.

I am blessed to live a value-based life where the new grooves in my brain live from a space of I am worthy, I am valued, I am important, I not only like me, I love me. I matter and so do you!

Yes, it is hard work which we need to do in the cold state or in what is known as new brain. It is so worth it. What messages do you give yourself each day. It is from the lens of self-compassion. If not, how might you shift that for yourself?

Whether you actually dive to such depths that require this level of dial lume, or are just looking for a relatively affordable tool watch link from a serious name in Swiss watches, this new link iteration of the Night Diver won't disappoint. In fact, I think it'd be cool to give it a new nickname. link In honor of Tim Dalton's take on Bond, I propose we call this glowing monster, "The Living Nightlight."

The watch that link I wear most is an all-black GMT-Master II, so I have to stick with the GMT here. The dial looks amazing link and I link love the nice pop of color the Pepsi bezel offers without being obnoxious. - Roberto DaSilva, Senior Manager of Wholesale Buying

The machine guns and ammunition bays have been replaced with auxiliary fuel tanks that add link 66 gallons to the total fuel capacity. A standard Spitfire holds roughly 85 gallons of fuel; the Silver Spitfire holds 200. Standard range is about 350 miles on a single fuel load, link but with the modifications the Silver Spitfire can manage about 1000 link miles.

Today, with the SKX long since discontinued, the best value in watches is the forum darling link from a well-known Japanese brand with link a tangential connection to Seiko. That's right, it's the Orient FAC00008W0 – also known as the Orient Bambino. This watch in link particular is the Bambino Version Two.

H. Moser always makes the list for respectable alternatives to link manufacturers that have link a much larger market share, and I think the Heritage Tourbillon link slots nicely into those lists. Other brands have adopted the 1920s sports aesthetic into their modern line-up, but H. Moser's gone ahead and added its own twist.
